ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Wapda and Young Rising Stars of Islamabad advanced to the final of 6th National Women Football Championship at Jinnah Stadium on Wednesday evening.
In the semi-finals, Wapda edged out fighting Islamabad 4-3 after a penalty shoot out while Young Rising Stars overcame a spirited Sports Sciences department of Lahore 2-1 in extra time.
The scorers for Wapda against Islamabad were Anila Khan, Nadia Bhatti, Rafia Parveen and Naila Rani while Mejzgaan orkzai, Samantha and Abeeha Haider scored one goal each for Islamabad.
Aisha Hassan snapped up both the goals for Young Rising Stars while Malaka Noor provided the lead to Sports Sciences early in the second semi-final.
